The problem for most of us is not aiming too high and falling short; it is aiming too low and achieving it. At this time, I reminisce the tremendous hardships of my parents Dr. D. K. Paul Raj (Late) and Mrs. Violet Paul Raj the founders of this great organization. Their humble beginnings when they started Sinclair’s High School in the front room of our house with eight children. They set their aim on higher things. Service was their protocol and God was their reason. I congratulate all who helped me in bringing BCM and Sinclair’s to what it is today, wishing you all on reaching a huge milestone, “happy Silver Jubilee, we are 25 years old”.
WE DONT GET TO CHOOSE WHO OUR NEIGHBORS ARE. Everyone is created in God's image. So if we are worthy of love, so is everyone else because of who made them. No one is to be left behind because Christ changed the rules by offering love, grace and forgiveness. The Holy Bible says in “1 John 4: 7 - 21 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another”
I believe that education is the key to development, any nation that neglects the education of its children is choking its own lifeline, the philosophy of school class rooms in one generation will be the philosophy of governance of the nation in the next. We will continue to develop brilliant minds, nurture thought process, and facilitate genius in all disciplines. It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it. We will continue to innovate, constantly extend our influence, and relentlessly pursue higher things. It is a joy for me to be the visionary behind the mission because where there is no vision; there is no hope, and then in converting that vision into reality.
I encourage all our staff and students to develop a passion for learning. If you do, you will never cease to grow. We at Bangalore City Mission and Sinclair’s High School will continue to move forward in constantly developing our systems and processes, and strive towards achieving excellence in Education and emancipation of the poor.
Remember Education is not the filling of a bucket, but the lighting of a fire. Let us together light the fire of development in the darkness of poverty and helplessness. We shall continue to do so in the true Christian spirit and under the example of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Remember, there are no great things in this world, only little things with great love.
